Civil works at the African Reef pathway in the Tarcoola Beach suburb of Geraldton, WA.
Works included the demolition of an existing path and required earthworks in preparation for the construction of a concrete path, traffic management, and installation of jute matting.
Scope of Earthworks:
Excavate and fill, shape batters, v-drains
Prepare and compact subgrade backfill
Form and compact batters
Prepare and compact subgrade to a minimum of 96%.
Test to confirm suitability for pavement construction
Prepare the surface for concrete pavement construction and ensure it is swept clean of all loose material and other foreign matter.
Jute matting installation:
Clear batters of stones, weeds, debris, and foreign matter, ensuring ground is levelled according to the designed slope.
Install jute matting to batters as per manufacturer’s specifications, using manufacturer recommended pins for the soil type.
Ensure overlap at the ends of mat across the preceding mat
